I have got this projector for free. The only symptom, that I can see is, when I plug in the AC cord, the power button starts blinking like every two seconds, continuously. Power, Lamp and Temp LEDs do not turn on. Previous owner thinks, that is a bad transformer. I'm not convinced about that. I have took it apart, inspected the power supply and ballast driver and did not see anything obviously bad. At elektrotanya, is available the SM(schematics): elektrotanya.com/benq_w1070_w1080st_ver.00a_level3.pdf/download.html Here it is, the level 2 SM: www.scribd.com/doc/208363905/Benq-W-1070-Service-Manual This is the first time, that I'm trying to diagnose a projector(not counting the Epson 3020e). I have managed to measure some voltages, CN603: 174V(at 380V plug/ page. #18), at CN701: 12.65V, 3.3V(page #19). I did not take pictures yet, but this is my ballast driver: www.aliexpress.com/item/USED-LAMP-BALLAST-DRIVER-FOR-BENQ-W1070-W1070-W1080-W1080ST-PROJECTOR/32824953859.html?spm=2114.search022.214.171.1243f1e297vCvQe&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_1_10152_10065_10151_10344_10068_10130_10324_10342_10547_10325_10343_10546_10340_10548_10341_10545_10084_10083_10618_10307_5711211_10313_10059_10534_100031_10103_10627_10626_10624_10623_10622_5722411_10621_10620_10810_10811_5711311,searchweb201603_2,ppcSwitch_4&algo_expid=57655dc7-8873-4de0-80df-45421ee9f2fb-12&algo_pvid=57655dc7-8873-4de0-80df-45421ee9f2fb&transAbTest=ae803_5&priceBeautifyAB=0 Any help, would be greatly appreciated.
I have injected lower voltage, 8.5V instead of 12V, with a 5A power supply, maxed out. I have found that PMD1000 IC, it was heating up quite a lot. Also, C297 capacitor as well, which is on the other side of the board. The capacitor, it was shorting out the circuit. After I have replaced the capacitor, the 12V rail it was OK. The projector still did not turn on, though. But at least, the power button turned solid green and the power LED turned on red. After measuring the PMD1000 IC, nothing comes out of it. It receives the 12V, but there are no voltages, at any of the outputs. I have ordered a new(2) one, and now I'm in the waiting stage.

I have replaced PDM1000 IC, and it booted right up. Did a bit of maintenance, and picture is very crisp. The image was very dull, I thought, that it needs a new bulb, it was that dirty. So it was a shorted de-coupling capacitor and a DC/DC converter IC.
Thanks. It would be even nicer, if we could figure out, that Epson 3020. I'm still looking for a remote, but my Logitech Touch, has all the switches in it and I could not correct the image, from 3D to 2D. Here are some pictures, with the bad parts.

jbmeyer13: Wolfy's Marquee isn't working? Did you spill a pint on it and short the MB?

wolfman: Always the same sarkasm Kurt that's why I never checked in until now. I knew you wouldn't give me a cheerful answer so let you hang for a while. Removed the last part you probably are a decent guy Eye to Eye.

stridsvognen: Wolfman, its768% better thanyour Marquee for sure. As it can actually display a image.

wolfman: So how's the black level on that thing? When the screen is supposed to go pitch black do you perceive it as genuinely black? Like the opening of CARS where it goes on and off pitch black. Or Prometheus with stars against a pitch black space.. or any Sci-Fi

stridsvognen: I have had multiple Digital projectors hanging together with the Marquee, the Sony is actually the first one that i actually turn on and use, so put 100 + hours on it already.

stridsvognen: Its nice to have a new 5000$ digital to show off next to the Marquee, it makes the Marquee look like it worth all the 35000$ printed on the lable on the box.
