Still running the Barco 919. Enough parts to keep it going for some time. It still looks good.

Ah.. It's nice to see that you could set up the beast! Thanks, Fist time I have had a close to black room. Love it. It adds so much to the atmosphere. Projector is a little close to our heads so a hush box will be made.

Found a way to set it up in the new house. Could not ceiling mount without a lot of structural change. All working well in a charcoal room. I do have a new in the box Barco Quad to sell. Looking at $300au.This is the older style quad. From what I have read the fill is a lot better than the newer ones. Can open and take pictures if anyone is interested.

Make sure you didn't bend a pin sliding the tray back in.

"Elloello,... Wot's oll dis'en?" It would be a handful. Had a play with a 45 colt many years ago. It took quite a while to work out how to hit the target. (beer can). Much harder than a rifle. In my early days I did a lot of pig shooting. Had an SKK with 30 shot mags. Great fun but not very sporting.π Then the laws changed and had to hand them all inπ

I don't find the brightness that bad. I have made some changes to the video circuit which I think has helped. I think the banding is around the black clamp circuit on the VNB. Once it warms up a bit I will be able to get back to playing with the 1292. At the moment it's in the 0deg range in the shed at night.

He will have them for ever at that price. You would be lucky to get that for a 909 in mint condition.

They are very loud. But great fun to play with. Lot of fan mods on AVS that could be looked into. They produce a really nice picture. I have HQF900 lens sitting on mine and it's quite sharp. It's not as sharp as the 919 but is sharper than the 808s. Easy to setup. If I didn't have the 919 I would be happy to use the 1292 with fan mods of course. You should get it cheap. I paid $100au for mine. I only purchased it for the C-Elements. It was still cheaper than buying C-Elements from somewhere else and paying shipping and I have ended up with a fun project projector as well. If it's cheap grab it and have a play. If it has the HD10F lens it will produce a very nice picture.

Hi Drag, Did you get the chip fitted? If not you can send me the board and chip and I will get it fitted. We have a full rework machine at work to do these types of chips. You can do them with hot air and solder paste. Put paste under the chip on the big ground pad and slowly heat the chip and also heat the board from underneath.once it has flowed you will see the chip drop down as the solder pulls it once re-flow temp has been reached. Use led based paste as it has a lower re-flow temp. Then solder the pin by hand.

Casey is the Gun when it comes to Barco ASTIG. He has spent more time learning about these than most have spent watching movies. I think from memory he put together a procedure and posted it on here. I would say that the same procedure he uses for the Cine 9 would work well with the Cine 8. You can spend a full day on one tube alone to get the best corner to corner focus.
