I just tried to connect my old notebook with winxp, serial port PCMCIA Com1. Software show "connected" status but when I call diagnostic menu or projector overview, there's a error message that say "no acknowledge". I think that the cable/com settings are correct

Allright, we know something more now. I had the same message with the faulty controller. If the connection is ok but no aknowledge, the controller is faulty. Get a jumper ( from a hard drive or something, otherwise use the one from the mini-fanboard from back-leftside, just for flashing ) and put it on the W3 on the controller. Than try again for aknowledge.

I tried to put the jumper but the software still does not recognize the projector. The status show "connected" even when the serial cable is unplug.
Then I tried with the other Barco's software and it find a projector labeled "UNKNOW" connected to COM3 (strange thing because in the control panel of windows reads COM1). With this software the projector connects but when I ask to get info, the software tells me that you can not get nothing when the projector is in stand by.
Obviously I tried to change number of com port also in 909 software but without success.

Hmm, strange. You use the comport in front of the projector, do you ? Like in my picture. The one on the backside have 9 pin too and can be confusing... Connection active means only that the software finds a active comport. It is also possible that you confuse the projector address with the common address on the projector. Common adress is for the IR remote. Projector address must be the same on both software settings and projector.

I did a lot of tests. The COM port and notebook works perfectly because I tried to connect a BG808 with full success. I'm convinced that the problem is in the controller or the failure to supply the same. Perhaps the power supply (SMPS) does not provide power to the controller. This would also explain the failed of backlit of the built in remote.

It could be the SMPS too. Wait till you have the back-up boards, than you can tell for sure before flashing.

I used a desktop PC with Windows XP Pro SP2. I used 7 x64 and it worked for flashing, however i got exactly the errors Decibel is stating.

There is a TSB somewhere here for that.

Here the tech. bulletin, if you don't have it already. Check the diode D400 too.
I check the SMPS sub unit and I found that the two caps in my unit are different than bulletin. I think that is a previous release of PCB/partlist In the SMPS sub unit of the my Cinemax there are four caps with the same value/voltage C450 and C451 (caps of the service bulletin) have 470uF 25v instead 560uF 32v Also C504 and C600 have 470 uF 25v Diode D400 with multimeter show resistance.

Does someone have the bin files for the different software versions? Is it possible to make a backup of the current software? Thanks!
