Works better and easier than expected. Nice to be able to adjust almost anything with MPC HD.
Image at 72 Hz was very good.

bad news and good news. The bad news is that it works 24p through the hdfury but there is some kind of judder in action scenes. Not in pans. I also had a 72Hz resolution working with so very small porches that the image is outside the active area so useless but no judder of any kind. So my next (maybe last) Aplle atempt is to buy a specified 3d active mini displayport to hdmi cable. I have the idea that it is the chip in the current cable that causes most problems. The Apple cable seems to work with the Apple display only people say so that one goes back. The 3d club adapter is much cheaper too. www.club-3d.com/index.php/products/reader.en/product/mini-displayport-to-hdmi-active-3d-adapter-cable.htmlOk the 3d club adapter works very good. 72 Hz is no problem with a Mac and this cable. During the process I discovered dat my MP modified VIM is pretty dark compared to others and that explains why I needed the 72Hz at contrast 85 or so.

So I have to continue with this project. Looking through the screenshots of the 1:1 the 909 has much better resolution of the small lines. Also I remember that each time I watched a movie on the Barco it would look good and I often got a wow feeling. I need to compare both CRT's better. Also have to try some bandwidth tweaks. The big problem. How to setup two CRT's in one room

One machine ceiling mouted and the other table mounted. The best way i can think about, while keeping the same environments ( light-control, temperature, screen etc ). Else, too many variables are involved for a subjective comparison.

Yes it should have a pretty permanent place because I know in actual practise my setup realy starts to be good after several calibrations and changes. It is not something I can do in a quick setup. It took me more than half a year to get somewhere with the Marquee and almost a year to get the most out of the astig with the Barco. So very difficult to do a shooutout and conclude anything about the CRT's. It is mostly the fuck ups of the calibrator that make this difficult. Perhaps if a team of people would work on it it was possible. In all fairness I need a year with a beamer to know what it can do.
