How accessible are the pins on ic1 and ic2 (output ics) to test while power on? Kinda hard to get to, there is another board above it, that has several components connected to the heat sinks and a hanful of cables that may make it tough to have it powered on and all together and be able to do readings on IC1 and IC2 IC1 and IC2 are mounted kinda middle with no access from below and blocked by things around it. I did get some type of test mode to come up, but not sure what I did> It has 26 factory presets.

Well you could try removing 1 and see if the error goes away. Which speaker wires do you think had a short?

Then I would remove ic1 (stk433-330) and see if it turns on normal.

Found this thread while googling for debugging tips for my RX-V373 receiver that won't power up after a high volume event. I worked through steps above as suggested by mastertech but alas it appears the thread petered out a few years ago. Any chance mastertech is still around and could suggest some follow on steps?

Hello. I have a Yamaha receiver RX-V373 that will not power up. When I press the power button, there is no response at all; no relay click. The only time a relay will click is when I press "tone control" + "straight" +"power". There is about 110V coming from the "rails?" of the main transformer. None of the capacitors look damaged, and the fuse tested fine. I am learning about electronics, and am able to solder/desolder. I would really like some help using my multimeter to find the solution to this receiver. Any help would be appreciated! View Attachment
