Here is the tube with the aquadag partly missing: What to do there?

a.) put copper tape b.) paint it with conductive paint
Note: Aquadag is only effective if it is grounded, its sole purpose to steer away the static build up made by the anode.

Yep, copper tape would be easiest to find locally, and probably quickest fix

I had the same problem one year ago, with a green sim. LUG. No conductive coating around aquadag clamp and the tube housing was arching to the chassis during start up and shut down. I bought a graphite spray ( around 8 bucks ) specially meant for this kind of jobs. Here a pic. If you can not find it in Australia, Farnell UK have it. Of course, you can go the copper-tape way too if you wish, I'm just giving a hint here.
Damn, each time I upload the pics with my iPad, they are upside-down. Sorry for that.

I couldn't really compare with a regular LUG, Case. My PJ came with a green PT22-30 fast refresh ph. and found a good deal for a sim grade one ( not from Greg ).

Was it better than that PT-22?

Sharpness-wise I could not see a big difference, but the sim. tube has a deeper green. PT22 is also a high res. tube but it shines above 75HZ (flicker-free). Those FR909 (fast refresh) were intended for stereoscopic and blending aplications. For HT use is important that all three tubes have the same decay time. I am pleased with the sim tube.

That did the job perfectly. Ive got it running a full green pattern defocused and on 25 contrast/25 brightness for a few hours.
