More to add to this.
During setup of brand new green tube, the lens assembly on the green did become quite warm due to constant high brightness out of the green while adjusting. When i noticed this i shut the set off for 30 minutes to see what the lens did during cool down. It moved out of alignment significantly, and pushed the electrical tape into a bunch at one end.
The electrical tape significantly improved the stability of the lens focus, but it still moved slightly.
I removed the plastic molded locking nuts and replaced them with wingnuts from an NEC, these allowed me to get a better tightening on them, and almost completely cured the issue, except when the lens got quite warm and then cooled afterwards.
I have now removed the rubber washers as theyre pretty useless, and i have installed sharp toothed metal washers in their place. This seems to have far better grip on the lens, and will be less likely to move.
Will report back after more hours are put on the set with this configuration.
