So all four fans are spinning at start up and you still get the "fan fail" warning ? Does the little fan on the PFC is spinning as well ? You can try with a spare PFC, it is difficult to see the fan. No connection with the controller needed on that fan board in the back of the projector. The slot is there just because Barco used the same board like the one in the front tray. That one must be connected with the controller. You should check that three wire cable too on both sides, controller and mini-board. If still the same problem, try to bypass the speed regulation board, on the back-left fan. Connect the fan plug on the mainboard directly, just like on the BR909 or early CineMax. If the projector keeps running without a fan fail warning, the problem is on that little fan board.

Thank you Hulio. Yes the four fans works. Tomorrow I'll try to swap PFC board. It's really impossible to see if a micro-fan of PFC works or not.

Domenico, don't blame the middle fan. Like others already stated, this one does not spin @ start up. It will kick in later, when will get hot. You have some 15 to 20 seconds time before the projector will shut down, so take a look at all four fans to see if they are spinning. A flash lite will help to check the front fans, usually is hard to see. If before drilling everything was fine, could be that from the vibrations the following things might happened: - fan is blocked by the wires or metal rests - a disconnected fan plug on the mainboard or on the little fan regulator-board R763706 - a loose jumper on the same regulator board Check those wires and plugs (unplug and plug back again if needed) on each fan and I bet the projector will run again. The fan isn't blocked because I tried to connect the fan with external power supply. I checked the frontal fans, they works. The little interface have four slots. Two labeled "from frame 1 and 2". Two labeled "to fan 1 and 2". Only one cable is connected to frame and only one cable is connected to one fan (not middle). Plug the fan straight to the mainboard where the board is connected so the board is bypassed.

It only runs when it has to. The sub board on the SMPS has caps that i found leaking, 2x 470uF 50v, and those caused my set to give the exact same error, even though the fans were all still running. Thank you but I tried two smps boards. Same error. I know that, you said you swapped SMPS, but how do you know they are not both stuffed? Did you test the SMPS in another set?

And if it does, a component on that board failed. Still think something got loose from vibrations.....

Yeah mate im still not discounting the SMPS here due to my own experience, and its not out of the question that both these SMPS units may indeed have the issue.

The issue remain also bypassing the little interface. I'm going to try the third smps board.

Damn. You have a spare PFC to try as well ? And did you checked the controller connection with the fan-board in the front tray ? Something else to look for: take the SMPS and SMPS2+G2 boards out of the projector. If you have the newer style mainboard, there are some capacitors there, between those slots. Put a vacuum cleaner ( or air blower ) and take care there is no residual metal from your drilling. Some of those caps are for cooling circuit too.

I already tried spare PFC without success. However the hole that I did is located far from mainboard.

Tried to swap little fan's control boards. No fix.
Point of situation: All fans works. Tried to connect the middle fan (usually stopped) at external power supply and it work. Tried to swap two SMPS boards Tried to swap a PFC board Tried to bypass little rear control board. Tried to swap fan's control boards.
I can try to swap the controller board.
