Not sure how many focus and astig zones you have on your machines, and while youre correct it isnt possible to get perfect focus the screen over, it certainly is possible to get extremely close, and get easily uniform scanlines visible at 1920x1080p

It sure is a lot of work though, and a lot of back and forth between astig and focus, but the end result is worth the effort!

How do the HFQ900 resolve the pixel phase pattern on your screen ? I had scanlines with LCP tubes 1080P 72hz 178Mhz, had to defocus to remove the anoying stair stepping. If i remember right it was 12-14fl in the 100% IRE field in the pic.

Can't imagine seeing stair stepping at 1080p@72 on CRT unless your screen is 150inch+ or your Steve Austin with a bionic eye.

Im sure, the pic is from a 90" screen running 1080P 72hs 178Mhz with P19LCP and GT17 lenses, today im running 1080P 72hz 195Mhz, and is hanging a new Marquee 9518LC with LUG tubes for a start and a 110" screen, hoping to get around 12fl, ill try install a HFQ900/ HD10E on that setup and shoot some pics of it when its done. 1080i looks like crap no matter what framerate, its way to few lines pr frame, there is pretty much always visible scanlines on the tube face, its just a question at what level it bleeds together/ at some point the phosfor will not alow it. I know that running HFQ900/ HD10E on a 90" / 2m wide scren its not possible to resolve the picel phase pattern, the HD10L and GT17 will do that, the HD10F is somewhere in between, using HDQ900/ HD10E lenses is ok if you dont have the specifik lens for the specifik screen size.
