Hi Guys,
Has anyone played with one of these? Having trouble getting the GUI to run on XP so I can adjust some timings. Playing with 1080p@72 but I need to adjust the settings to get rid of the left side ringing. Thanks, Greg

Its a bloody nightmare Greg, Kurt and i both played with it at length, and i never really had much luck, i got the GUI to work but i was not happy with the way the scaler worked, generally not doing what is was advertised to do, which seems to go hand in hand with majority of HD Fury products.
Their support was pretty much non exsistant, and when challenged on the capabilities of the device they would remove threads as well as posts.
Their 3D glasses were a major dissapointment too, the number of actual settings was around half of what was claimed, so they did not work correctly with CRTs.

Well if you bought a new Hdfury4 ill advice returning it asap while you can get your money back. The scaler gui is a nightmare, and Hdfury has kept us off by promising new firmware, wich they lately deleted, as if they had never posted that. Please bump this thread up on AVS on the subject. www.avsforum.com/forum/37-video-processors/2445698-hd-fury4-scaler-gui.htmlNow last post on the matter they more or less told us to go fuck ourselves and buy a lumagen if we were not satisfied with the features of the hdfury 4, and i had emails where they told me that nobody uses CRT/ analog displays anymore, and pretty much used that to explain why ½ the features was not working, and the performance specs was way overrated. The analog RGBHV output is junk. It is possible to get around and use the scaler gui, i got it working on WIN 10, sometimes, lately it worked, but depending how you enter the data in the scaler gui you will risk it do funky stuff, and the pixel clock is not calculated right, so you will never be able to run a pure frame tripling from 23,97 to 91.93hz, so you might notice some judder, depending how much patience you have to play with porch timings to hit as closely to the right framerate as possible. But if there is any chance you can deliver it back, dont wait 3 sec, or wait for Hdfury to reply or help you.. It will never happen and they will not be shy to drag time so the return is no longer possible. www.avforums.com/threads/best-hdmi-to-rgbhv-converters-for-analog-displays.2023323/#post-23486674

Picked it up cheap. Picture looks good HDMI in and HDMI out to the moome 1080p@72. Just need to move the picture. Might try the 96. The manual says this will be 1080x817p@96. I have not tried the analog out.

How is the USB port on a computer going to supply enough power to fire up the Fury so adjustments. The power supply is rated a 2amps. Even if it only needs 1amp a computer is going to struggle big time. Art not computer USB ports rated at 500ma?

I have set it up on the 1292. Looks better than the moome v3 external. So I decided to play and it worked out really nice on the Sony. Chain is, Samsung blu-ray player to DVDO 1080p@24, DVDO to HDFURY 1080p@24, HDFURY to Sony 1080p@72. I used the DVDO to adjust the porch settings and move the picture.

Try snap a shot of the 1080P SMPTE pattern from the DVE disc, and the croma multiburst pattern from the S&M disc, they will tell you a story about how much you lost in the process.
My laptop has a high power USB port that has no problem running the Hdfury, and i can set timings in the scaler gui on the run, and confirm the scanrate on the projector, and keep trying untill i get something as close as possible to 71,93.
The Hdfury will perform nicely HDMI in HDMI out, as it dont messes up the croma resolution to much, the DVDO is not leaving much of that intact if i remember right, also the Hdfury is capable of not degrading the bit resolution, maintain the 8 bit graduation if you run it 422 8 bit in and out, and feed it that way to a moome card/ dac.
You should try avoid 2 processors in series, and make one or the other do what you need, ill in this case recommend see if you can find a win 10 pc and try play with the Hdfury timings, and dump the DVDO, as the DVDO is not a very good processor.

I get a message that it didn't find the handle. Then it tells me to plug it into the USB port and then it will open the GUI once I hit enter. Just cant apply what I change in the GUI. Is there a way of knowing if it connects to the GUI?

If the blue led on the hdfury is on you should see it flash or light up while uploading the data.. So you can open and edit the data in the scaler gui on your pc.?
Are you sure the hdfury is set to 1080P72hz, and you feed it standard 1080P24hz, the gui only work on a standard 1080P 24hz input source.

So it has to have an input signal first. I will give that a go.

Their customer service was a joke in every sense of the word, and their knowledge of anything related to this was garbage, including knowledge of their product. They got insulted by feedback. I posted a thread/ user review on avsforum with detailed testing screenshots of testpatterns, and the scaler gui in details, speced it a 720P device on analog bandwidth, Hdfury was at the time a vendor on avs forum, and they reported my thread as a insult.. So it was deleted, with no notification, or explanation, so i re posted, thinking it was a error, it happened again, and i posted again and contacted the forum asking them to look into the problem.. Now from that i was just told that it had been reported as a personal insult and if i was to post it again i would be permanently banned from the forum, and i was in a thin thread already.. Thats why i think people should at least bump the hdfury4 scaler gui thread over there from time to time ask if there is any news or development on the issue, or they intend to solve the issue bu refunding us, and correct the sales specs on the product so the same dont happen to future buyere, but they keep the false specs up, and pretty much refuses to reply or give it any attention. I know they will hate it, and they still somehow gets the thread put way back in line, just notice the date of the last post, and how its been moved back in in line in that forum section on AVS.

Yes the specs they listed on a lot of their products are false, but i dont think theyre smart enough to know any better either.
