Those two diodes are OK. I will check those components, but I'm wondering why the power supply could be a problem? It was working prior the HDMI IC replacement, and I'm not aware of shorting out anything. Weird.

Let's try to remove the amp section from consideration. To do this, remove the two fuses on the bottom board. This will eliminate all power from the amplifier section but still allow power to the rest of the system. If it stays on, you have something wrong in the amp section. If it still turns off it narrows the problem down to the logic systems.

I have removed everything from the HDMI board, except the JT901B connector and it still does it. Now I'm checking the components on the power supply. Resistor is 46.77 Ohm in circuit. I'm removing the relay, to measure it. In circuit shows .539 ohm. All the diodes look OK.

I have placed the order, for a new IC. Todd, do you think that this symptom could be from a bad, or at the present, missing HDMI IC? Maybe, nothing is actually bad? As we have seen on newer receivers, the receiver won't even start, if this IC is missing from the board.

Could be. Did you order it from China? Remind me, is that the ADV7623? I think I have an extra if you need it.

Yes from Ali. Yes it is ADV7623. I'm even thinking about resoldering the original one to see, if anything changes. Thanks for the offer, but I have already placed the order. There is no rush, with this receiver. I'm fighting with its sub as well.

IC came in, I have replaced it, but there is no change, still clicks on and off. Power wires that goes to the HDMI board, if I unplug them, they show 16V, 16V, 0V(GND) and 13.4V. They are stable. I'm thinking, that something must be shorted on the HDMI board and is going into protection mode, but why it restarts? Before, with the other HDMI IC, at least it was turning on and it was working. It was very hot for sure, but it was working. The receiver that is, not the HDMI.

I have read a thread here, with a receiver that had the same symptom, and ended being the fuse inside the transformer. I have checked that also, but mine is not open. Q181 shows weird, but it is not shorted.

What happened when you tried to power on the unit with the two fuses removed?

I only see F901 fuse on the PS board. If I remove it, does not switch on and off instantly, as I plug it in, but when I turn in on, it starts the sequence, even faster.

This one has me stumped. My only suggestion is to try changing out the relay but I fear that isn't the source of the issue.

Since the HDMI wasn't working, I'm guessing it could have a similar issue as the RZ800, no? More parts are damaged. The previous owner has replaced the HDMI IC, and it was getting very hot. He even installed a small fan over it, to be able to at least use the rest of the receiver.

It occurs to me that the trigger for the main power relay may have been flaky and now that the board can pull full power, it is creating a problem. To check for this I would replace Q181 (on the HDMI board) as well as R921 (on the Power Supply board).

The transistors, that we have used in RZ800, are not equivalent right?

The transistors, that we have used in RZ800, are not equivalent right? Hmmm... Not sure. There are a LOT of these in the RZ800 but I am not sure if those are the ones you replaced. This part cross references to the following:
