Hi All, This is my first post after recently discovering this forum. I have an Onkyo TX-NR646 that started giving me trouble reaching it via wired networking (but sound fortunately works fine). I finally had a chance to look into it, and the device is definitely on the network (I can see its MAC and it's pingable), and I found out this morning that it's reachable via telnet (in fact, I can log into the embedded Linux) however it doesn't show up in the app and both options to update firmware (i.e. network and USB) are greyed out. From a post in this thread, I see the note, "now wifi and bluetooth is greyed out ...That means that the reflow process broke a connection on the DSP. Wifi and bluetooth are driven by the DSP chip and if they are greyed out, it means that the chip is not booting. This needs to be fixed first before you try to fix the firmware. I would try to reflow it again." As I can reach it via wired ethernet, the lack of WiFi or BT isn't a big issue however the fact that I can't connect to it via the app or play any music via Net despite it being reachable is a problem. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on how to proceed? As mentioned above, I'm able to log in via telnet and was able to find the root password online. The embedded OS is some old Linux version running Busybox. I can reach the system's web page, but I can't force start WiFi or update firmware. Manually starting mDNS isn't helping, and I see the message, "mDNS_AddDNSServer: Lock not held! mDNS_busy (0) mDNS_reentrancy (0)". Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Try to re-flash fw via usb. Press and hold DISPLAY key, then push the Standby button. Main uCom fw ver. will be shown at this point. Release both keys, press the RETURN key and using arrows down or up, select USB ALL and then ENTER.

I did and I got in the display " -M1-11/18921AEA " and it got stuck in " Now Initializing " forever !
