It will return and eventually stay! π
Whatever you do, don't try a firmware update, either from USB or via network. That will almost certainly kill it completely.

OK, thank you bud. Where would I be able to get the right chips from? I mean for Β£80 it's worth trying to fix.

Before you spend money on any parts I suggest you scroll to the top of this discussion thread and read through it thoroughly.
The chips are 176 pin surface mount quad flat packs with a ground pad hidden underneath. There are two of these chips and if you've never carried out this kind of repair before, then it's probably not the best one to learn on.
Add to that you may also have to remove the associated memory chips and use a EPROM programmer to erase and reprogram them.
