Bought an Arcam400 FMJ with no sound and no VFD display. I"ve plugged in to TV through HDMI out and it has display. I've checked the VFD and it it toast. Leak. I don't know where to source if so anybody has suggestions please let me know. However, the main issue really is the No Sound to speakers. I have connected a signal generator to the RCA CD input, and signal stops at IC101 Renesas R2A15218FP IC. -7V and +7V power supply in there. On this IC101 IC, mute is in pin 51, Clock on pin 50, data on pin 49. Pin 51 - mute is logic low (no voltage) so I'm guessing this is not a muting issue. Pin 50 clock and pin 49 data - however is a different story. I don't get any signal on them. I tried scoping on a older analog scope, and no signal whatsoever. No voltage as well from the DMM.
Anybody has any idea if it's the IC itself or should I look somewhere else?
This is crossposted. Hoping to get more expert's opinion.
Thank you.

Well, while soaking in on the schematic and familiarizing myself with the circuit. I found that the Codec had corroded 1 or 2 pins on all 4 sides. I'm really not sure why this is but. It appears that the magnetic shielding they glued on top of that IC. The glue somehow seeped or leaked on all sides and started to corrode and now damaged cut some 1 or 2 pins on all sides and the IC. Thus there were surely no contacts. I haven't seen this kinds of problems on other receivers. Just this Arcam. I hope it didn't spread to other components. It seems the codec IC had to be changed. Until then I wouldn't know exactly if that was the cause of this no sound.

PIN50 is Volume Clock. PIN49 is Volume Data. These are used only when sending volume commands. Not active all the time! Should see activity when rotating the volume knob. Data comes from MainCPU.

Just to update this topic. Hopefully will be of help to anyone who has the same issue. Managed to fix it. Quite pleased with the result. It was the codec that was messed up. Corrosion on pin 51 and 41 cause the no power to Codec IC143. VFD is still broken, leaked vacuum and quite expensive to replace. So maybe I'll just enjoy the music without the display.
