Got a Pioneer Elite VSX-52 with the well known No Sound and ***** on DSP code. From reading all over the net and finally returning here. Managed to get a bin file from Andy of another Pioneer 2021 and flashed it to the EEPROM. The flashing worked partially I think as audio had returned. Updated again to latest firmware through USB update and it completed and automatically turned off after the update. Audio was restored and DSP code no longer has the infamous ****. The weird thing now is FM tuner keeps saying "Tuned" to every frequency there is but no audio signal is present. Audio from other sources work, CD, DVD, even from HDMI ARC source. It's only the FM that keeps tuning to any frequency. Another thing is when I dial down the volume to zero " -- ", when I turn it up a bit to get audio there is a noticeable pop, it's not loud but it is noticeable. Also there is a some kind of FM static, so I'm guessing FM is feeding the amp, it's just that no FM is going through. Any help, opinion, suggestion would surely help. Actually quite happy it is working, but would be nice to have it fully working. Especially FM, I tend to listen to FM the whole day. Learned a lot from here so, I hope this gift keeps on giving.

Well, update. Turns out popping sound was caused by a faulty mux IC bd3473ks2. Replaced it now popping sound is gone. But FM always saying tuned to any frequency is still there, and I can't get any audio from FM even if I intentionally dial it to a known used FM frequency.
Hope any one can fetch in. Could this be due to the loaded firmware to EEPROM?. I tried updating through USB again to the latest firmware as I did before. But displays a message saying "No need update".
