Ok, that did the trick. I get sound out of all outputs (except SR obviously). FR was finicky because the binding posts were unscrewed a bit.
This is with my iPhone, analog cable.

Ok, I'm reading the manual now to see how to get it into 5 channel mode, not many buttons on the front.

Using banana plugs, FR channel does work but not when I push them all the way in. FL channel is fine. Center/SL do not work no matter how much I fiddle with the connection.
This was using iPhone with analog inputs. (DVD)

iPhone/iPod via headphone to stereo (red/white) cable. Xbox 360 via analog outputs, unfortunately the video cable doesn't reach all the way across to connect all at once.

Ok, receiver #1. HDMI board #1.
I should have checked every speaker output. I only get sound out of the FL channel, nothing from FR, Center or SL. HDMI cable from Blu-Ray to Receiver, I hear audio on the FL channel. When I tried plugging HDMI out back in, I still have audio but no video. FM tuner only gets sound out of the FL channel.

I currently have HDMI #2 in receiver #1.
I just installed the Denon Remote app on my iPhone and tried connecting an ethernet cable. I selected Internet Radio and it will display the song that should be playing, but no audio.
Is there anything you'd like me to do with HDMI board #2 before I switch it out and check things with the original HDMI #1 board.

Let's call them receivers #1 and #2.
This thread is focusing on #1. #2 is the one with the cracked front panel.
The HDMI board from #2 gives nothing from HDMI (video or audio) in receiver #1, only thing I got was composite video. No FM sound. The HDMI board from #1 gives sound, but only from the FM tuner in receiver #1. No audio/video from HDMI. I did not try composite video.
I think HDMI board #1 gave audio but no video in receiver #2. (I can confirm this if necessary). HDMI board #2 gave neither audio nor video in receiver #2.
The only devices I tried were the FM tuner, a blu-ray player and the composite video output from an Xbox 360, and I only tried getting sound out of 1 speaker.
What would you like me to confirm

Neither board gives HDMI (Video or audio), so no, neither board works properly.
The only thing I got out of one board was audio from the FM tuner.
The other board all I got out of it was composite video (but I only tested one board for composite video).
If you'd like I can test all speaker outputs (except SR since the outputs are currently desoldered on that channel). I can also put the other HDMI board back in and check composite video.
I did not check either board for analog audio (red/white).

Let's see.
The HDMI board that's in there now is from the other unit. It currently get composite video, but no HDMI video, and no sound at all from HDMI or the tuner. I have not tried any other analog inputs.
The HDMI board that was in there originally, I get audio from the tuner but that's it. I tried it with a blu-ray player and got neither video no audio from HDMI.
I only tested one of the speaker outputs (Front Left I believe).
What would you like me to test/confirm?

Put everything back together and partial success. Everything powers on, but I'm only getting audio no HDMI. I tried the tuner (audio, woohoo) and a blu-ray player (no audio or video). This board experienced the same symptoms when I swapped it into the other unit, audio but no HDMI.
Swapped the HDMI board from the other AVR, no audio or HDMI, but this time I tried composite video and that worked.

I have to run some errands but I'll put it back together and power it on in an hour.

We've replaced:

I can replace Q5702 but I don't have a 100V/100uF capacitor unless I pull it from the other board.

I'm reading the thread in awe of your patience, both of you Nash and Mac. I'm hoping to have some time this weekend to take my next steps, but I just hope there isn't this many of them.

This thread is definitely not encouraging me to finish troubleshooting.
