Bought this Yamaha used complete with the box and all.
Was working for about a week, yesterday when I started the tv, it turned on and still had sound. When I started netflix it closed the app and went back yamaha’s wallpaper and initiated a Audyssey calibration with. Tried it again and it closed and went back to Audyssey calibration. Thought it was a fluke so I tried to connect it to wifi so I can update. It wouldn’t search any wifi and wouldn’t scan for any network. So I thought I’ll try to do an update without connecting thinking it’ll prompt for wifi connection later on. Display kept on verifying for a long time and I got impatient and turned off the unit as it wouldn’t respond to any of the keys I pressed wether front panel or remote.
I tried turning on radio tuner to get music. Now I have no sound. Thinking it just needed a reset so I did a factory reset. Turn off unit. Pressed “straight” button and powered it on. Went to initialize all.
Turned off and on, now still doesn’t have sound.
I tried to do a USB update, but says device error.
So I connected to lan cable “wired” and the thing updated to the latest firmware. Glad that it did. When finish, still no sound.
Now I’m thinking this is one of those Onkyo HDMI board problem all over again. I sunked a significant dough on this. Just thought anybody had this same issue and resolved this.
What do you guys think?
By the way I made sure it was not muted. Also l, when I try audyssey calibration the menu will get stuck at precheck.
All other menus work except the wifi setup and audyssey calibration.
This has Dolby Atmos, Bluetooth and supposedly wifi. I’m at a loss for these functions. Not sure if it is even worth fixing.
