Hi, This Onkyo has an issue with the button inputs. Mostly it turns itself off, but also sometimes pressing the on/standby button will trigger the music optimizer function. I guessed that the standby button would use the standby power so I probed that and found that when the system is off 12VSTB measures 11.55V and when the system is on, it measures 13.62Vrms with a ripple from 13.44V - 13.76V. I don't understand why the voltage increases when the system is on. Is this typical? I've been trying to track down Q7018 and Q8975 to measure their outputs. The schematic is here. Other than the random button input, it seems to work fine otherwise.

Well I guessed that the 12V standby increasing after power on meant that there must be another source of 12V. I noticed that there was a tap off of the transformer that went through a rectifier and supplied +12V. So I replaced C201, a 25V 10000uF with a 16V 10000uf I pulled from another receiver and there is still ripple but the voltage is higher. 14.16Vrms, 14.00V-14.28V. So far the power button is working perfectly, time will tell if this was the issue.
