Hi everyone, My first post. I am seeking advice on power conversion for an Onkyo NR676. But really a power supply swap. I am pretty handy and know a little about electronics and repair. I've read the SM and from what I can tell the 676 uses the same power supply as the 656. If I take the transformer and the switch mode power supply from a 220V 656 and put them in a 110V 676, will that work? Or is there other things I need to do?
TIA

Hello, You need 110V transformer and change 1 capacitor in stby power supply. 696, 676, 656 uses the same transformers. The unit currently has 110V transformer and I have a 220V transformer from a 656, so that should be fine. When you say the stby power supply, do you mean the small board BCPS-XXXX? I was going to change the whole board from the 656 also. But you're saying I don't have to? Just change a cap? Do you know which cap and what to change it to? I assume I would also need to change the fuse on that board too.

What do you want to achieve with this trafo exchange? One unit is broken? Yes, I had 1 broken unit. I have gone ahead and swapped the transformers and the switch mode power supply, and it has worked. Thanks for your help.
