So I've got this Epson EX5200 here that needed repair, its issue was no power. I had no problem fixing that and the projector turns on like it should, but there is one odd problem now that is appearing.
After pressing power, the power LED switches from amber (standby) to flashing green (powering up/getting ready). All that is normal and all but the issue is it just stays blinking endlessly.
I've worked on a few of these before, and I know that once the green LED starts blinking, the auto iris "initializes", then the ballast lights the bulb and voila.
There is no auto iris movement, no fans, just this blinking LED. The only way to turn it off is to unplug it and plug it back in.
Any advice on this little beast?

How long have you let the green led flash? What type of ballast does it have?

I let the LED flash until it goes back to amber color, or about a minute. As for the ballast, I have no idea what type it is... other than an Epson? lol Otherwise im sure the projector works fine if I can get it to fully power up

I was going to suggest you disconnect the ballast and see if it detects the error or just continues to flash like it does. Try disconnecting something just to see if it acknowledges it.

Well okay, sorry I didnt get back, but I did check it out , removed a cable from the mainboard at a time, no change. I also swapped the ballast and PSU out from another unit with the same 2 parts,(but not the same mainboard) that didnt change anything either. Sooo I am suspecting the mainboard. I dont suppose theres a service manual for this little guy floating around?

I have a service manual for a comparable model which is the main that I posted but there are no schematics in it. Frankly, the manual is pretty much worthless.

I suspected as much. I'm guessing something on the mainboard is causing the issue. I'll probably just hang onto it for parts since everything but the mainboard appears to be fine. Thanks for the help
