Hi all, i have a Samsung U28D590D Ultra HD computer monitor that has somehow got two insects between the backlight and the panel!!
I have no idea how they got in there because this whole thing seems to have no vents on it at all.
Its a hell of a monitor for the money, 3840x2160 at 60Hz via Display Port is awesome for PC gaming, and ive noticed no bluring at all. Stays very sharp even with fast movement, which is something i cant say for the IPS UHD monitor i looked at more recently.
i doubt the insect intrusion will be covered by warranty, and im not going to open it up just yet, because its got no screws and im not a fan of these clipped together shells.
Just a heads up for anyone else that may live in an area where insects are around!!

Possibly might have had eggs in there when it was assembled? Very weird. And clamshells are a PITA to open. It's like the mfg prefers not to repair but to replace.
I'd call customer service anyway. Got nothing to lose.

I dont notice it enough to bother, the image quality is still quite exceptional

This monitor is now dead. Will not turn on. Unplugging the power supply from the back of the unit and plugging back in was fixing it, but is not any more.

Yep, still under. Its been back again, damaged from amatuers opening the case, and still didnt work anyway. I called Samsung and told them i dont think its fair their service agent damaged my monitor and i want a new one, they were sending a representative to that service centre to have a look and said they will very likely send me a new one.
