I've got a Onkyo TX-SR803 HDMI AVR sitting here that I've had for over a year. It worked perfect when I first bought it but a month or 2 after it started having an issue when you would press "Pure direct" or "stereo" (or anything to do with the tone) nothing would happen, and no sound is heard. If those 2 buttons operate, then the AVR operates as it should as well.
Its a random issue, sometimes it will work, but sometimes it wont. I don't have the want or need to work on it, I have far too many other electronics to repair anyway.
Its in excellent condition, almost perfect except for 1 small scratch on the volume knob, and a very small ding by the flip down door that hides all the buttons.
This is the silver model TX-SR803.
Since its not working properly I'd be willing to let it go for $50 shipped insured anywhere in the continental 48 USA states. It would be worth the repair to someone who wants to use it, as it is a well built unit.
PM if interested!!

Check with Onkyo about their extended warranty program. If you're the original owner, they may repair it for free, though you may have to pay for shipping one way. The issue is often the HDMI board, and when it goes bad, the unit produces no sound. Onkyo and Integra had a zillion of these defects, and Onkyo had no choice but to offer the program, though they've done it very very quietly. From your posting, it sounds like you're the second owner? Still, it's worth asking about, since they base acceptance on the serial number.
