Got a few LGA1150 motherboards here that the sockets are pretty sloshed on, so no warranty on them will get them going since most all motherboard manufacturers void the warranty on any boards with bent or damaged pins.
I have a few here that are literally missing pins. Now the ironic part is, I actually found a guy selling brand new LGA 1150 CPU sockets for $12 a piece shipped, which seems pretty reasonable.
I just don't have the tools or ability to remove the damaged socket & install the new one on it. the sockets all solder on BGA style so I can't imagine it being impossible since I've seen people reflow BGA chips no problem, and this is just a socket with no electronics in it!
Just a thought, don't wanna really toss the motherboards since they are some nice models, so figured I'd see if this is even possible?
