I am in desperate need for a firmware dump for this main board.
HAIER 39" Main Board Part SMT120738-1-3978 / T.MS3391.A3B TV Model L39B2180C
I am trying to repair it for an older gentleman who just had hip surgery.
Haier was of no help I have a programmer so if you can get me the firmware file I can get it reloaded. I removed the one on the board and it is wiped.
Thanks,
Dean

You removed the ic from the board? What was the ic part number? U11 on the board and this is the part number of the chip. 25Q16BSIG www.datasheetspdf.com/PDF/25Q16BSIG/865306/1A few months ago I sold this exact board to a repair shop on eBay. I remember the customer contacting me that the picture was upside down and if I had a service manual for the TV I tried my local contact and we could never find the SM. Well I remember the customer contacting me back and letting me know he swapped the EEPRROM from the customer original board and all was good and he thanked me for the help. Well I contact him yesterday and ask if he had keep the EEPROM he removed and guess what He had. He shipped me the chip on Friday so I should have it the first of the week and I hope it will work I am not 100% sure it's the right firmware but the is the exact model and part#. I will be reading the information from the EEPROM and saving it to a bin file. I will report back if this fixes the problem. Thanks for trying to help or if in fact you have the correct file that would be excellent!

Ok I received the eeprom from the board I had sold the customer and installed it in the current board that I have and the problem does appear to be a bad eeprom chip.
But the problem the customer was having with the board / chip I sent him I am now having with the same eeprom the picture is upside down.
The TV is now power on and off the way it should and that was the original problem.
I have entered service mode and I don't see any setting to flip the screen.
Anyone have any thought?
Thanks, Dean

Have you tried doing a factory restore?

Have you tried doing a factory restore? Yes with the replacement chip but the picture is still flipped. I loaded the firmware from the original chip onto the replacement chip and at this time it appears to be working. It powers on and off like it should I have just watched it for about 3 hours and I am going to power it down for a while to see if with power on and off like it should. That was the original problem with the TV the power supply was replaced because the TV would not power on I did not replace the PS someone else did. Once I got the set I could see that the Main board was not supplying the 5v to turn on the PS knowing that these Haier TV's have a bad Firmware chip problem I wanted to try that first. At this point I think the EEPROM was bad or heating up and failing? Time will tell and I will report back in a few days if replaced chip fixed it for good. Oh one other thing the boards are the same but I think the firmware loaded is different. The Original board is a SMT120738-1-3978 The board that the EEPROM came off of was a SMT120738-2-4074 (Upside Down Picture) Probably has something to the panel used in the TV. Weird because the Service tag on the back of both sets is L39B2180C

OkTV appears to be fixed. I has power on and off as it should for the last few days and I have let it run for about 40 hours.
