Yes, it could be. Still, it should generate a HDHT. In this case, because the spot-supression does not work, the projector should never be turned off with the power switch button on the back. Standby only, else you have a spot-burn on the tube.

Guys, To complicate matters more. just finished setting up the 909 i got from Curt hours ago, on the start the 909 was a bit erratic and video was modulating a bit , the green was not focused or sharp enough. Green crt is a lug03xxx 43. Looks new based on the stickers and labels. Now 5 to 6 hours later , losing the video or the video was modulating more. Eht led lit up , dying quad again. Started it up again , video came back but still modulating. here is where i stop. The good news, the green crt seems to be sharper now. the bad news is all four quads are dead. This is a big mystery, what gives. Video processor now is a radiance xe with the moome card. All 909 parts were the original that came with it, quads came from a 919 from curt also. Is the little white wire connected properly at the main board and to the splitter?

Guys, don't get mad at each other. Life's to short and complicated enough for that. Justin, it seems to me that you are dealing with two issues here: overvoltage and, more important, the protection circuit does not kick in. You should get a HT hold down before something gets damaged. You did not fiddled with that pot on the spitter did you ? The feedback voltage to the EHT is dependent of that and is factory adjusted. Never touch that, or you'll keep burning things. On the HV part, the EHT is the only component wich requires adjustments. For some adjustments you'll need a DMM, a HV probe and an oscilloscope. Not so easy and not without danger if you don't know how to do it. So i don't advise you to do anything here, i am just passing some info. I do belive that Mastertech is the one with the most electronics knowledge amoung us ( i am not ), and can "translate"that info for us. So, before you do something, wait for his advice. Here two docs regardig the adjustments and the working of the EHT. Hope it helps.
Last thing im likely to do is get mad Hulio

I did missed out on it before , the effect was the pj would shut down sensing a short in the system.

When you order the parts from Greg, tell him of the issue, and see what he has to add. He has many years experience on this model and will probably know why youre seeing this issue straight away, which will narrow down the diagnostic process. From there, we can guide you on any testing Greg feels may be needed. In my own experience, my set ate all those quads because they were shit quads, not because the set had another fault, but lets wait and see first.

And your wife should be happy to support your hobbies and interests, otherwise you need to find a wife that does. Relationships are not about sacrifice, theyre about happiness shared together. How often do you tell her she cant do what she likes to do???

How often do you tell her she cant do what she likes to do??? He he he, Well said Case. Actually she is quite a good sport about this, me spending a lot of time and money on crt Pjs and other related hobbies. She has learned to appreciate crt Pjs over plug and play TV sets. My wife and most Girls can discern good picture quality with out being too jaded or overwhelmed by technical mumbo jumbo. I would always watch with her, the girl/ drama/ light comedies and doze off to sleep. hehe. I really seldom can watch movies for long or continuous periods, its the setting up and all the work to get it running smoothly, that i enjoy. So it seems i am the kind who likes to tinker and tries to get reactions from friends and family about the job i've done. This is still very fun for me and my family does seem to prefer me doing this than any other hobby. WAF is quite high so far,
