Wondering if a Runco DHD 22D or similar runco DHD controller would be compatible with a VX-5000D projector? Mainly to get some of the newer inputs and what not, it looks compatible, but that means nothing. I'm just wondering if I connect the RS-232 cable from the PJ to the controller if the newer controller will work with the 5000D before I p*** money away on something I don't need

Good question. There is really no way of telling without actually trying it. It will all depend on whether they can communicate to each other. However you will most likely get errors if the newer controller tries to execute a command that the older projector is not capable of.

Hmm, I figured as much, I'm sure there aren't many people out there with Runco's and attempting different VPs with them either. I suppose for what the DHD controllers are going for I can buy one and see if it works with the VX-5000D. It would be great to add HDMI to the projector. If Only I could find a shorter throw lens than the 1.95 - 2.95 lens thats on it! (Whoever bought it new must have had a very long theater, or a dinky ass screen). Worst case scenario its useless to me and I resell it
