Well at least it is alive, somewhat. You are going to have to go to the front display board and see what is going on there. You can go to connector P7501b on that board and set your DMM to ohm scale and have receiver unplugged. Test between pins 9 and 14 and press the power button and see if your ohm reading goes to dead short.

Look for a cracked board also. I have seen that many times over.

I will have to take the front off to access the board?

Board seems ok. Initially it show some ohms; when button is pushed ohm goes to around zero (Not complete). Once leave the button, it goes to 0L for a second or two then back to some ohms. Around 10K ohms.

I would do a continuity test between boards on that harness. Specifically pins 9 (front) to 17 (CPU) and 14 (front) to 10 (CPU)

No continuity in both cases.

Did you buy this receiver not working?

I purchased this receiver brand new in July 2012. It has been working fine until about 2 months ago when it stopped powering at all. It happened completely all of a sudden.

Can you post an image of the harness?

Have you tried doing a continuity test on any of the other lines. Just start at the top of each connector pins and work your way down verifying each line. Check them all.

Are you suspecting broken line in the ribbon cable? If so, I should test continuity from one end to other end for each pin.

All lines have continuity.
