It cannot be a florescent bulb. It has to be incandescent. You can sometimes get away with a 75 or 60 watt bulb but the lower wattage bulbs sometimes won't go completely off even when there is not excessive draw.

Ran it for a few hours and its back at home with its owner. Thanks mac
