My friend brought his Visio 42" to see if I can fix it after it POPed and smoked!! It was a ceramic capacitor. I did not have 1000pf so i paralleled( used extra through holes) two 512pf caps but still no go. I'll add some pics.

I tried to test power here at the rectifier but nothing entire board

Did you check the fuse at the AC input?

Did you check the fuse at the AC input? Yes power on both sides. 125 volts

Then you should have AC on 2 legs of that rectifier. I'm not seeing a relay in that area to switch it. Can you give me a picture of the back side of that board mostly that lower half?

Wait a minute, I just checked continuity across the fuse its open. When I tested voltage across the fuse I had one probe on each side. Thats not the correct way to test voltage across a fuse is it?

here it is, I never seen one like this mounting before. So I just unsolder one end of the holder and remove and replace correct?

I don't have a schematic for this supply so I don't know how that cap is being used so I would replace with what was in there. So yes, I would order the correct one.

Well if you look on the pic of the entire board you can see where the burn marks are under the two blue ceramics I put there. There are two sets of through holes that are bunched on the same trace as where the original one is. so i just used the spare through hole set for the extra one to make the 1000pf the original cap was.
But i did order a new 1000pf 1k kemet ceramic.

Right. I got that part. But your 2 512's come out to 1024pf. Depending on the circuit, 12pf could affect it. Plus if your 512's were off in value somewhat then that variable can be doubled. What was the voltage rating of the 512's?

If you want to try further testig while you are waiting for that pigtail fuse to come in you can solder in a fuse holder in that location and just pop in a fuse. At least then you can see if it then works or if something else is going on.

Yeah I might stop at radio Shack and get one if they have it. Or i might just solder a wire to each end of the same rating fuse.

You could also alligator clip in a 100 watt light bulb and see if there is a short or excessive draw on that line.
