Hi all, i have removed a BIOS chip that i want to swap for a different one, and the 27C800 is the equal in a DIP format.
I can very easily program a DIP eprom, but not sure how i would program a surface mount chip because it obviously wont fit in the programmer.
What is the best way to do this? Is there a suitable adaptor i can use to program the surface mount chip or would it be easier to wire up a DIP socket?

but yes there are adapters available to do so. For example, my TL866 programmer comes with a bunch of this kind.
