I heared a lot of stories that the old quad and splitters from 701 projectors work in the 909. So I bought a quad and a splitter for porto cost only. My question is are these stories true will this quad and splitter from an old 801 work in my 909 with the 909 EHT? Untitled by Radio Head, on Flickr

Short answer is yes they will, that is what im using now. Obviously the quad cant be attached to the chassis and has to just sit in place, but itll work fine.
Just cut the focus lead off short and fill the rubber boot with silicone.

Ok. I am putting old tubes on my test 909 to test these quads and also test other parts like smps.

Is the splitter a R762907. I have one of these. I think its from a 7 series. Would be good for a spare if it would work with the 919

Looks like the same spare i got from you Greg, marked the same way etc, and seemed to work fine after i sorted out the other issues.
The quad looks identical to the 2 new ones i have here, where the HV lead comes out straight instead of out the top. Ive not had one of those fail yet.
Every single one of the factory original type quads ive seen are either dead, or become dead in some sort of catastrophic way, such as shoot an arc out through the potting that leaves a reasonably noticable split in the rubber. No idea why that would occur with these and not the older style.

Are you certain that combination works? Its my understanding that the splitter will work but you need a new EHT with New Quad. Therefore OLD Quad and Old EHT. New EHT and OLD Quad does not work at least according to Barco technical reference.

As written several times in the other forum, the only incompatibility concerns new quad with old Eht. Who want use new type with old must modify the Eht board with a jumper. Instead all splitters are interchangeable. repairalmostanything.com/post/3737/
