Hi all My IRIS3 used to work prior to updating the software, which i did when i had issues with the controller. The spare controller would not even recognise exsistance until i changed software version, and now it works the same as it does on the other controller. So what it does is runs part way through and stops. Sometimes says something about focus setting of the camera. Initially it used to work even with the settings way out. What is the optimal focus setting for the camera? Is it midpoint on the setting bar or is it 99 ( or whatever the top number is? ) I dont really ever use it, but be interested to know why it doesnt work now.

To focus the camera, aim for the highest numbers on the bar scale. Don't try to look for 99, the max. you'll see will be around 60-70 ( depending on ambient light reflected from the screen ). For horiz. and vert. centering of the camera, you should aim for perfect middle ( black dot at 50 on the bar scale ).

Got it working Dont know what was going on before, couldnt get focus above 60, but this time managed to get 93, and it now works fine again. i hardly use it, but it is very handy in emergencies where i have friends over and we hook up a different game console that has not been aligned, we can pour drinks and have a chat while it takes care of its self.

Yeah, it does a decent job with the condition that you had the projector already well set up, as IRIS must learn some references first (screen size, position etc). One can not use the IRIS on a fresh install, it is meant for jobs like you mentioned or when the projector is moved but used on the same screen size, height and distance. I love it too in fact even I don't use it. Nice piece of technology, if you think it was designed some 30 years ago, and not for consumers.
