Hi all after having the C43 AMG for a few years now i have been looking out for a suitably cheap E55 to take the 5.4ltr engine and the 18" wheels for my C43, and found one recently very cheap and in good shape. I was amazed at how fast it is, noticably more torque than the 4.3ltr version of the same engine, and the big E Class handles very well too. Not quite as good as the C43, but it sure is faster.

Not yet mate, i will look at getting it organized when i finish nights on Wednesday.
The build quality on this E55 is really quite incredible though i must say. Previous owner has spent more on the car in the past 5 years than i paid all up to buy it, and its in really great mechanical order.
I will probably look at the timing chain and guides when i have the 5.4ltr out of the car, although it runs that smoothly i doubt there will be much needed.
275,800klms on it, and youd think it was more like 25,000!!

Swap is underway, engines are out.
Having torque converter rebuilt while its all out.

Ha, makes all that time and effort worth it. Yeah no doubt about that. I loved the W210, but it doesnt handle near as good as the W202, and the seats are not as snug around the bolsters, which are adjustable on the C-Class AMGs. There were 30 W202 C55s made in Europe apparently, it was supposedly a 30,000 euro option, the difference between mine and the factory one is the speedometer in mine goes to 280 and the factory C55 goes to 300, and mine has a 3.07:1 diff ratio instead of 2.82:1.
