Ha! Today I managed to save a vintage ESCOM laptop. It is equipped with a powerfull intel 486DX-33 CPU, it has 4MB RAM, and has 120MB HDD integrated floppy drive, no CD. The display is some 13-14ish b&w LCD, not very nice you can imagine. It is a 1992 vintage or so, and despite that it has a very cheap feel, rather low quality plastics, surprisingly it is still in good shape. The problem was a depleted battery in the Dallas realtime clock, I reused the old chip and wired out the battery teminal. It runs Windows 3.1 smoothly...

That is pretty neat. What are you going to do with it now?

Sell it...I have way too much junk. This one sat on the shelf for more than two years without touching it now, so I guess I could live without it. As being said it has no CD drive only FDD, and has some f*cked up printer port because as soon as I connect it to an other computer (null modem) it suts down the power, so it's pretty much nightmare to bring data to it. Besides I have a Siemens-Nixdorf Sceninc 700 laptop too (Pentium 100, 40MB RAM, 540MB HDD, that has CD and color TFT display) so I can play as much vintage stuff with that too. Side note: I bought the Scenic laptop when I did not have service remote for my NEC 6 PG xtra, and this laptop served as remote (through RS232) controller for almost two years, those were dark ages... LOL
