In No Protect self-diagnostic check (Tone+Info+Main Power buttons), an error is shown as follows: C1-6. BUS DSP:NGThere is no sound. There are no other errors shown. Neither unplugged from a/c, disconnected speakers, nor factory reset fixes the problem. Any suggestions on further diagnostics or troubleshooting options for this error would be greatly appreciated. That particular error means that a problem has been detected between the DSP ic241 and the CPU ic221. Now there could be various reasons for this to happen and testing would be required to try to find out what is not causing it to lead to an assumption.

Thanks for the reply MasterTech. What types of tests could I try, using my digital Fluke multimeter, to isolate the problem? Happy to give it a shot. BTW, I will be without Internet access for a few days, so will look for your reply when I am back online.
Many thanks, Jim

Hello Master Tech, I am now back online. Any guidance for testing these two ICs?
Best regards, Jim

These may be the source of the problem. See images. Can these components be obtained individually and replaced using soldering iron? Jim

Unlikely I can fix this, as R2429 and surrounding area appears too corroded. Any sources for a used P.C.B YF985?

Is that the corrosion in the picture you posted above?

It appears to be corrosion. Top photo shows before and bottom shows after I cleaned it with electronic spray cleaner.

Update: found "part out" unit on Ebay for $49 + free shipping. Turns out it was in "protection mode." Correct button sequence restored power and it works great. Will part out my unit, noting HDMI PCB is inop.
