If you cant move things locally than there is not much chance of selling large heavy 8inch projector items due to the high shipping cost. I just got a price to send a tube to Portugal for a guy rebuilding a 908. Standard shipping was $160-00au. I don't expect to hear back from him. Its a shame as I could of helped him out. Maybe we should not put prices on items and just ask for offers, at least this way you will find out what people are willing to pay to keep the hobby going. These days shipping cost determines weather parts are worth buying or not.

There is one person seriously interested in buying my material. I hope never to come here. Ill ask this again, why would you care if anyone saw what was posted here?? Everything we have said is common knowledge and known to many, far and wide. Not one single thing written in this thread will have any negative impact on your sale. Nothing we have said is a negative against you or your items for sale. No reason you should care one bit about us saying what we do, unless youre trying to hide the facts and mislead a potential buyer. Im sure you would not want to do that, and you know i for one would never support anyone that did. So its got me buggered why you keep saying you hope no one sees it, youre too paranoid!

Have read this threat and it really saddens me, this has no benefit to anyone . Is this going to be the new level for this site ? I hope not.

Do the same in real life? If so you are the condemnation of the shopkeepers who certainly welcome you with pitchforks! However I have an extra controller in selling. The price of it is 300 euro shipping excluded. Let me know.

No mate, im not weird, im making a fair offer based on market value, since i could buy the complete set for under $1,000 AUD, and had 908 machines offered to me for $500 AUD, i thought $100 AUD for just one board seemed pretty reasonable in today's market.
β¬300 is probably more than ill pay, β¬200 maybe, others might pay you that though, but i wont. Especially when i have to spend anoth $50 AUD replacing the capacitors!

These days shipping cost determines weather parts are worth buying or not. And thats the thing here Greg, the postage is so high on a lot of these sort of things it really drops the value to a point where its not worth anything, and that is just how it is. Ive spent considerable money on CRT parts and machines over the years, and ive given loads of things away for the cost of shipping, and in some cases even less. Did i make a financial loss? Yep. But who cares? Im not here to make money off this stuff, im here to help others keep their sets running and set up correctly. I sacrificed a complete working Barco 909 a few months ago so someone else could have the parts they needed to complete a test machine. That same person has since done a lot of work for me in return, work that i dont have time to do, nor do i have the skills he has to complete to the same standard. If someone wants to try charging Curt Palme or Greg Eisemann prices for things then by all means, go for it, but why? No one here should be buying CRT projectors or parts and expecting theyre gonna flip them for any sort of profit. The market for them is very slow, and that drives prices down. If you bought something and over-paid, thats life, and you'll know better next time.

I am really quite confused as to where anyone could have any issue with anything here, not one thing said here will have any impact on any posdible sale, and not one person that i can see has said anything negative about any person or any product that is up up sale.

If you are intellectually honest now you must to go into the Curt's forum and must write that the friend of Gregstv is selling tubes to twice or triple what they are worth. Rather, since the 8 inch projectors are not worth anything in your opinion, you must to write that the forumers who wish to buy those tubes are stupid people. Since as you wrote actually it's possible to buy Marquee 9500 at 500 bucks, already you're there as well write in Tim's topics that is selling tubes at a price six times higher than the real worth. Tim has been known to ask one price for tubes then double it or more, he did that a few times in the past. You tell him if you like, i wouldnt waste my time. Gregstv is not selling the items listed in his thread, and Gregstv is the last person on earth that would EVER over charge for anything. That is a fact. One of the most helpful and highly skilled people on any forum relating to CRT. Decades of experience, and his work is absolute first class. Its not my opinion that 8" projectors are worth nothing, that is your words. They are not worth much here though, OZAL bought his last good condition XG for 1 Australian dollar. Nothing stupid about people buying 8" tubes, its a great idea. Just not used 8" tubes for β¬500... I bought a set of 3 P16s for my XG off Craig for $300 USD about 3 years ago, including lenses and LC housings, LC frame parts, screws, brackets, the lot. 'Intellectually Honest' and 'Curt's Forum' are somewhat of a contradiction in terms dont you think? How many times have you seen informative posts and threads deleted over there because we are not allowed to help others? Hundreds of times. Do you think you wouldve had your Cine 9 working yourself with help from that forum?

Thanks Casey, The small group of us still playing with CRT in Australia just give each other what ever we can to help each other out. Its not about the money, its about helping each other out and keeping our hobby alive. As Casey said there are 909's in Australia for $1000au with clean tubes. A sony 1292 with mint tubes sold 2 weeks ago for $285au, To keep the hobby alive we all need to help each other out and keep prices as low as possible otherwise the hobby will die very quickly and leave a few people with boxes of parts that will end up at the recyclers

No worries Greg and i agree, if i had more space available to me here i would stockpile more items so others could have a source of parts, but unfortunately its not so simple to do this at the moment!
