I have had this GTP-506 with 3 zone capability that I wanted to use at my restaurant. Well I finally installed it with a GFA 5006 6 channel amp. The issue i am having is that zone 2 and 3 volume can only be adjusted via a remote control( I have) but from an IR receiver connected tot he back of the preamp. I bought two IR receivers one for that can be used on a verizon Fios STB from Infrared Resources and the other is from MCM Electronics Stallar labs www.mcmelectronics.com/content/ProductData/Manuals/50-14877.pdfHere is the Adcom User manual. I dont have a Service manual which might have more info. www.adcom-usa.com/userguides/gTP-506-ug.pdfNot sure if the adcom IR port ( 3.5mm ) is working or not or if the units I tried to use are not the right plug type wiring wise. Is there something I missed? Nashou

Ok I found the schematics. It looks like there is no power on the Adcom Jack. So if i use this Stelar labs jack should I find the 12 volt wire and connect it to the voltage block on the adcom, or better yet find each wire and use them all on the block? nashou

Well the first issue I see is that you have a 3 band plug and a 2 contact socket. Second thing is the ir receiver requires power. You might be able to make it work if you cut the plug off and wire the 3 wires directly to the terminal, picking up the +12v power from there. But these things can be very temperamental, lol.

That is exactly what I was thinking as well . Nashou

Ok cut the Stellar labs IR cable and hooked it up and it works!!!!
Now I need the schematics for the other IR so I can use that for Zone 3.
Its for the new style Fios boxes. Not sure if you have any schematics of the IR input from any of those boxes.
