I have a Sony VPH1292 with low hours and mint tubes for sale in Australia. It has clear C elements fitted as I swapped these with my 919.

If you'd live in the neighorhood I'd buy it in a heartbeat.  Did you try the machine, how did you like? It was a quite remarkable machine at the time when it was introduced. The video circuits are well built, despite the streaking issue... |

I set up a 1292 for a customer about 10 years ago. I was impressed with the picture and how well it focused. I should do a full setup and take some screen shots. I think the only problem with it was fan noise.

Im led to believe theyre quite loud, but i wonder how loud compared to some XG models, because theyre very loud as well.
Greg i reckon you should do a full thorough setup and compare it to your Barco, id be interested to see what you reckon there.
If you were closer and i had space, id grab that off ya for an arcade shooting game setup.

I'm sure the 909 is sharper, but also very well could be that the 1292 has better bandwidth than the barco.
BTW does the 1292 has dynamic astig?

It has zone astig i believe yes.
