I had a problem where the red tube would not light up fully. It was extremely dim on the input as well as the internal patterns. Only after bumping the brightness way up could I see the picture and pattern on the red tube. I was able to trace it back to the VIM. I swapped the Red for the Blue / Green and the problem followed so it has to be something along the red video chain on the board. I saw someone mention an 03P schematic but I was unable to find it. Does anybody have a link to the schematic or a starting point for getting to the bottom of this issue? Thanks for your help.

Have you tested with another vim.?
Sometimes the CLM gets funky and needs the chips reseated. Where are you located.?

I've not tested with another VIM. I don't have a spare to try out. I'm about 20 miles northeast of Atlanta. Pardon my ignorance but what is the CLM?

Controle board, right next to the vim, just wondering if the contrast adjustment signal to the vim might be the problem. Ill recommend you to pull it out, and reseat the HVPS pull the LVPS and HVPS and clean the connector in the chassis with a vacum cleaner, it might have colected a lot of dust, and then with some isopropyl alcohol and a cotton stick klean off the connector point of both power supplies.. It just the most common Marquee problems.. So just as well get that out of the way. If you snap and post a picture of the internal of the projector, tube covers and high voltage splitter it wil give a good idea of its condition.

There is an 03P schematic in the Marquee service manual posted here on the forum.
If you need some help troubleshooting just let us know.

I was able to get my hands on a newer 05-2035-02 and it fixes the problem so the problem must be on the VIM. The only noticeable difference is that the black levels don't look as good. I had to turn the brightness all the way down. I may still try and track down the issue on the 03P.

If you made sure the 03p VIM is the problem, then it is a little easier to find the problem. Locate the TP14 test point (most likely a blank solder pad near to the red output RCA), so, with a flywire try to measure the voltage there during operation with a voltmeter referenced to ground, that tells much about the source of the problem.

Got this one the other day with a old 1996 Marquee 9500.
