Hi. I've enjoyed this DA30ES receiver for a long time, but recently it started showing this issue. When the unit is turned on, usually there is white noise on the left channel. It may go away on its own after a few minutes, or if I tap on the unit. It can also get worse with tapping, so I would tap on the sides, the top, or the back until I get the noise to stop. After that, or after warming up, it would work fine for hours. Investigating further, I noticed that I can get the noise it to stop easier if I push on the main board (I access it from the bottom of the unit after removing the bottom plate). I'm suspecting this is a contact issue, like a broken solder point, or perhaps one of the board traces is broken, and that it might be resolved by soldering a wire between two points, but the question is which ones.
Here are some more observations: The noise is independent of the input (analog, digital), and of the volume. When the volume is high enough, the sound can be heard over the noise. Also, the noise can be heard over pre-out, so I'd imagine the issue is somewhere in the preamp section after volume control. Do you think you can help me identify what's wrong here? Thanks.

Sounds like you did a lot of the leg work already. There is no way I could tell you where the problem is. You have to find it. If you know how to read schematics you can follow that channel pre amp circuit and check solder points along the way.
Is it left front or rear or both?

Thanks for the quick response, mastertech. It's left front channel only. I thought I'd need to find the problematic connection myself, but it would help if I could narrow down the search. Where could I find the schematic?

Thanks you so much. I'll post here if I'm able to fix it, though it could take a while.

Gotcha! Identified the problem on pin6 of IC501 (input to power amp). Perhaps I should resolder the pin, but for now I just pressed it in slightly (the pins are bent to one side), and the noise is gone, and it's not sensitive to tapping or even harder slaps anymore, so I'll observe it for a while, and revisit if necessary. Thanks again.

Good to hear. Hopefully that was it.
