Hi Guys,
I've just replaced the glycol in the blue tube of my cinemax (due to fungus). Upon assembling everything correctly I powered up the project and it ran ok for like 2 min. Suddenly it switch off by itself. When I powered it again the tubes don't light up but the projector is running. EHT board has a red led on all the other leds are green. What the hell happened? Can any one help me?
Thank you
regards

Red LED on EHT board is a scan fail issue. No HV to prevent tube damage. Power off the projector Disconnect blue HV lead and power on again. If Red LED is now not on then you have a problem with the blue tube.

I would say you may have gotten moisture close to the HV lead, this has happened to me putting my CineMAX back together with sweaty hands.

Hey guys,
The red light is on even when all tubes HV is unplugged.
Regarding the moisture suggestion, how did you solve it?

Have you swapped out the quad and splitter? One of these has more than likely failed.

I've just replace the quad with th one from my Bg808s with no luck. I'll replace the splitter next (also from the working bg808s)

The 909 would use a later version of the Quad which will require a jumper change on the Frame or if thats not possible on the EHT to accommodate the changes between the old and new Quads. There is a chart that Barco released (see Below) that gives what combinations of EHT, Quad and Splitter that will work to together although I believe all the splitters are interchangeable but the Quads are not. Do some home work as the Quad may well be good and still not work so you have not eliminated the Quad from the possible problems yet. BarcoServiceBulletin_R762716_New_EHT.pdf (158.02 KB)

Hey guys,
Switching the splitter worked!!!!
But now after a few minutes I lose the green. It fades away. If I switch the barco on and off I get it again and then after a few minutes it goes of again. What the he'll is going on?

Try to swap green neckboard with other (Red or blue) and check if the issue go in other tube.

Your 808s must have a later quad if its working in the 909. For the sake of eliminating possible problems did you check the chart with your part numbers.

Hey guys, Switching the splitter worked!!!! But now after a few minutes I lose the green. It fades away. If I switch the barco on and off I get it again and then after a few minutes it goes of again. What the he'll is going on? Ive had this issue before. Go into the set up menu and delete all signal memories, then reset all settings to mid point. I have no idea what causes it, but id bet if you tried a different source or resolution the issue what not be there, and if that is the case, resetting everything will likely fix the issue. Same deal when the set shuts off with a specific source or resolution and you get a "coincidence" error in diagnostics. Before you go too much further, pull the boards out of their sockets and push them back in a couple times. Dont need to remove them completely, it will potentially improve any marginal connections in the sockets. Also pull the tray, and re-seat it a couple times. There are tabs on each end for this, and do not force it in hard. Pull the SMPS and check the size of the caps on the little board, there should be 2x 35v 560uF, if theyre all 470uF, then there will be issues later on. We can sort that out later if it is a problem.

Even an old 7 series quad will work in a CineMAX. His set is a CineMAX, essentially the same as a Cine 9, and very simular in many ways to a 909, but not exactly the same.
