Hi all,
found this forum on google when i searched for radi_thermal
Now my experience with electronics is about 40%
The amplifier is a pioneer Vsx 824-k. The error is a Temp error. it starts then i turn up the volume till 40 after that it go's to 0 in passes of 1-3 and powers of. I checked the error log and this is what i get:
temp 2:255 over :000 Temp 3:000 DC :000 Temp 1:000 V+SV:000
Also the HDMI blinks on the front panel.
checked the amp board in circuit, en it looks fine. tested a couple of output transistors, also fine.

First I would clear out those over temps. Then I would do master reset. See if it still shuts down and the temp errors return. If they do i would then check and if necessary adjust the idle current for all channels.

Thanks, it worked. what i did before was only factory reset. testing it through an rca input. what i did was resoldered some bad solder points on the amp board, maybe that did it.
testing it in 2.1 channel.
adjusting the idle current ? as in the pot meters on the amp board ?
where is temp 2 located ? and what could be the cause of this failure ?
edit* it is still working, thanks!

VSX-421 same issue.Remove amp board and check all emitter resistors of the final transistors (0.47 Ohm, connected in parallel) Start with front channels. If you find faulty resistors, say of the front left channel, also check Base resistors (100 Ohm) of the finals. In my case, I've also replaced them too, I believe they're 2sb1560 and 2sd2390.More likely you need to do the same because emitter resistors don't get faulty just like that
