"Elloello,... Wot's oll dis'en?" It would be a handful. Had a play with a 45 colt many years ago. It took quite a while to work out how to hit the target. (beer can). Much harder than a rifle. In my early days I did a lot of pig shooting. Had an SKK with 30 shot mags. Great fun but not very sporting.π Then the laws changed and had to hand them all inπ

Hey, FYI, I have a small supply of new tubes for the 1292. They're Sony licensed and made by Lexel.
I'd let them go really, REALLY cheap but two things: You pay shipping. (I'm in Florida, USA) The tubes have LC hardware attached to them which is not too difficult to remove. I might be persuaded to remove that hardware.
I opted for a new screen name in this forum. I have left Curt's forum, basically I got banned for refusing to buy into Kal's horribly distorted worldview.
You would know me there as cmjohnson.
I go by Chris, to my friends.

Gday Chris, as you probably know mate i left Curt's site a few years ago, due to his somewhat questionable used parts id received a few times ( like a "near new" Barco quad that was arcing internally and had loads of black shit on the lead... Thats from his 12 hour test he said ) Do you have any green c-elements for 9" sets? The green in my Barco has fine surface cracks in it.

I might. But, surface cracks on a C element won't affect the picture to any noticeable or even measurable degree. They'd be too far out of the focal plane to be performance issue. I'll check my stock of parts and see what I have.

Only time it can be seen is during rolling credits or dark scenes with a bright moving objects

Interesting. What does this...interference....look like? Flared reflections across the screen, not noticable in brighter than about 20% scenes, but easy for me to see on a dark scene with a bright object moving around, such as the OPPO logo moving around the screen. no issue for video games, but movies it still bothers me.

Uh, that COULD be something other than the C element. It could even be the lenses.
I have some of the Elcan made (last generation) HD-10L lenses made for VDC after 3M shut down the lens shop, and my Elcans do exhibit a small but (in some scenes) noticeable reflection issue. The reflection appears 180 degrees across the screen from the source part of the image. It has to be a bright object and a dark background to be seen.
Scratches in the C element should do nothing but ever so slightly reduce your overall contrast ratio. I would really not expect to see your symptom being caused by the C element.

No its the c-element, no question about it. I know this because if you rotate the c-element the reflections follow. The cracks are on the inner surface of the c-element, and they wouldve been caused from me washing it in cold water, but not waiting for the hot rush i get from the tap after a few seconds when the pump kicks in for the first time after the hot sun has been shining on the expansion tank, the rush of hot water followed by cold again will have cracked it. It is the c-element, rest assured ive confirmed it before making the call

These are cracks though too, not just scratches. My lenses are factory original HFQ900, ive got 2 sets, one set is a HM set from a 2005 Reality 909, the others are standard from the 2001 CineMAX, i cant actually tell any difference between them, they dont change anything on screen that i could ever see. Both sets will give tight scanlines at 1080p all the way to the corners using a full tube face, and you can get a nice phosphor grain across the whole screen too, so im not thinking id be able to improve much there. Only issue with those lenses is the drifting with temp rise and fall, you need them done up TIGHT.
