Title basically says it all. The unit turns on, but I get no audio through the tuner, analog inputs or HDMI, no video through HDMI. After a few seconds the HDMI on the front display flashes, and it also reads "Demo mode - Play Your....." The MCACC light is on.

You can turn off the demo mode in the menu. Of course you need a remote for the menu. A programmable remote should work or there is a downloadable remote app for a handheld device.

Check the ribbon cable that goes to the main HDMI board. Pul it out and see if is clean. I got lucky with mine and it was the connection had corrosion on it.

I take back my earlier comment about demo mode, I think that's what it's in, but I'm not sure. I see scrolling text like "Play your songs from USB", or "Play Internet Radio" that constantly scrolls past unless I'm actively changing the volume or inputs. Is that demo mode?
Got the app working, but still no audio or video. I don't think the app can switch off demo mode. There is a demo mode in the app, but that's just to show off the app if it's not connected to a device. The app is rather rudimentary, just input control, volume, power and surround modes.

I'll check that Nash, but the unit looks pretty clean inside.

I'll check that Nash, but the unit looks pretty clean inside. At least pull it out and re seat it. Just like in our CRT's Nashou

The cable was pristine. Definitely stuck in demo mode and the app doesn't help. I'll get the remote for it, since I think the other unit is fixable.
*Nvm, I'll just program a remote tomorrow. There are at least 3 Harmony remotes in this house, one of them has to be able to control it.

I am surprised the app did not have a menu selection. Another customer used the app on a 1522 I sold him and he was able to work the menu. At least that is what he told me.

There are two different apps. The other one looks more complex but isn't compatible with my model.

Why would you say it is not compatible? Or is that what Pioneer is saying.

If I first connect to it via the ControlApp, the other apps will recognize it but tell me that it's not controllable and direct me to download the ControlApp on iTunes.
Unfortunately without video I can't try any of the fixes in that thread, unless I try it blind with a universal remote. I have to run to work, but I'll program a remote tonight and hopefully I can find screenshots of the menu.
