I put my hands on two spare HDMs and by chance both are quite interesting. One is built on a standard 07p PCB, but it is missing the coil switching relays and also missing half the adjustment coils (and some other less aparent stuff as well) the board number is 03-270353-01P. The board is from 1996, I believe it is an early Marquee 9500 (or 8500) DM projector, with the scan limitation to 65kHz, therefore no apparatus were made to run the scan yokes in parallel mode. The other one is also interesting: That is from 1997 and is built upon the 08p PCB, so it should be believed to an ULTRA HDM, but it is equipped with the smaller old style heat sink and the board number is 03-270303-08p, whereas an ULTRA HDM should be 03-270303-09p and the regular one is 03-270303-07p. This board uses the old style FETs too. Any idea what could this be? Here is a picture of the DM style HDM:

BTW it would be interesting to know in what exactly the 07 and 08 PCB differs, because putting them next to the other they don't look much different.

That reminds me of the 8110 vs. 8500 comparison. Near as I could tell, the only difference other than the absence of the astig board and astig windings on the focus yokes was a software change to limit the scan rate to 130 KHz. And if you knew the magic ultra secret service password, 1596325, then you could change the model number to 8500 or 9500 and I think that removed the scan rate limit.

I've had a Marquee 6500 that was capable of the full scanrate range only with replaced DPB on the CLM.
