Thought I'd post this in an attempt to force me to get back to it. Here's a recap of what Mac had advised me to do 2.5 years ago: Try holding the Pure Direct and the Direct buttons at the same time and hit the power button. Tried Pure Direct and the Direct buttons then power, no luck with either the on/off button or the standby power button. If that doesn't work, unplug it, now hold the Dimmer and Surround Back buttons at the same time and while holding, plug it in. Then hit the Status button. I don't see a Dimmer button on the front panel and unfortunately a remote was not included. (I could probably use my remote from a 3803 Looking at the image below, locate IC502 on your power board. It looks like a transistor but only has 2 legs. With your meter set on diode scale test across each leg. It should test as a short just like a fuse. I will try this.

Ha, yeah, you will have to bring me up to speed on this one, after you test that IC. That's a long time ago and many, many receivers ago, lol.

That's basically all I remember. I'll try and take it apart again to take a look at that IC this weekend. It's been sitting on a dresser in the guest bedroom for all this time. It's either going to be fixed or trashed.
