when i power my pioneer receiver the first relay click but the second does not so i unplug the ribbon cable to bypass protection mode and then the macac light starts flashing.i also noticed a white mark on ic3004

If the ribbon cable you are disconnecting is the one from CN8012 to CN5002 that will not bypass protection but will surely put it in protection. Reconnect that cable and test voltages at pins 5,6 and 7 of CN5002.

pins xprotect and xdcerr had 5 volts on them but xolerr had 0 volts. and i meant the ribbon cable cn1405 to cp3001

On the main board locate Q5020 and test for any shorted legs. If it tests fine or you cannot get good readings then remove it and retest the voltage of xolerr.

q5020 tested fine removed and xolerr still reads 0 volts

On same board locate R5115 and test for +5v on both sides.

both sides of the resistor measure 5 volts

Then you should have +5v on the xolerr pin. Recheck that xolerr line at pin 7 of connector CN5002.

measured the wrong pins xprotect and xolerr have 5 volts but xdcerr measures 2.8 volts

Check for voltage at the base of Q5502 and Q5504.

Are you sure you are measuring at the base of each? Test at each pin of both transistors and give me the results.

i was testing it and must have shorted something. i heard the relay click and now whenever i plug it in there is no relay sound from the relay

no i measured 2.6 volts at ry51 which is not enough to turn on
