I have never had a Denon before, so I'm not much of help here. It's getting hot, by any chance? Has enough room to "breath"(ventilation room)? On my older Onkyos, I have used a laptop cooler, with an adjustable fan, to cool the receiver. I have adjusted the RPM, to a level, that it wasn't bothering me, but it was still decent cooling, for the receiver. I have plugged it in into the TV's USB port. If it would be mine, I would take off the cover and I would re-tighten the final transistors on the heatsink. At least on the Onkyos, I have always found them, a bit to loose for my liking.

The fan should suck out(pull out) the hot air. The final transistors are mounted to a big aluminum heatsink, and those screws get a bit loose. Most likely, they will be at the bottom. I use one of these, to tighten those screws: www.harborfreight.com/8-piece-right-angle-screwdriver-92630.htmlIt could be something else, this is just an idea.

What do you hear at 60-70 db? The receiver gets hot as you use it?

Maybe you went overboard a bit. Probably one big slow fan(140mm-200mm), would be better.
