Good day everyone. I recently bought a stack of non working receivers. One was a Yamaha RX-V381 that when turned on said internal error. I got into the service menu and retold it what model it was. This only sticks until unplugged. When it's plugged back in it defaults to the internal error and I have to go back and remind it what it is again. In the service menu, it also says eeprom:ng, hdmi:ng and bt:ng. There's no life that I can find in the hdmi in or out and bluetooth doesn't show up when trying to search for the receiver. Just wondering if anyone has a suggestion as to where I should start? I also have a Pioneer VSX-1022-K that needs work on the amp board but that's a whole mother project. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks I'll try that. I actually saw that video but wasn't sure if it was just the same thing as going into the service menu and reminding it that it's a 381 or not.

Well, it seems the 381 is set up differently. Anyone have any other ideas? I have the service manual if needed.

Did you try initializing the backup ic (ic224) as indicated on page 20 of the service manual?

Yes, I've tried that also, I forgot to put that in the first post. It still has C1-1 All:ng C1-3 hdmi:ng C1-8 eeprom:ng C1-10 bt:ng. I have and can, for the most part, use a digital multimeter. I can read schematics for the most part also.
