Hello everyone, First of all I want to start of by saying this is my first time working on hardware like this so might have some incorrect idea's, please correct me if i'm wrong! A while back I bought a second hand Onkyo TX-8050 amplifier, for a couple of weeks it worked fine but then all of a sudden it didn't. (No sound, couldn't connect to network or USB, network settings completely dissapeared) So, i set out on my mission to fix the thing. After a bit of Googling I found out a lot of Onkyo device have the same issue where the voltage running through the DSP chip is to high. Loads of these chips basically desolder them selves. To confirm my suspicion I asked a friend to guide me through connecting the amplifier to my laptop. After an evening of messing around I did not get the amplifier to spit anything out to my putty instance. This was kind of expected because I read online this is what would happen if the DSP chip was faulty. I got myself a heatgun and set to work, after a couple of tries I gave up because nothing on the interface of the amplifier had changed. The day after i decided to hook it up to my laptop once more to see if it would talk to me, which it did! The output can be seen in the screenshots below. I've restarted the device so its pretty much the same log twice. The device is saying it can't load a couple blocks but everything else seems normal, there is still no sound, no network settings or connection and no usb connection. Does any one have tips how i can progress?
